Sustainability is a part of our design philosophy
From the very first sketch, our furniture is meticulously crafted with durability and longevity in mind. We understand that sustainable design goes beyond just creating aesthetically pleasing products; it’s about considering the entire lifecycle of our furniture and its impact on the environment.
From the initial concept to the finished product, we prioritise materials and manufacturing processes that minimise environmental impact. We carefully select sustainable materials, ensuring that our furniture is not only built to last but also environmentally friendly.
But all good things must come to an end (eventually) and when they do, we’ve thought about this too. Our products are easy to disassemble, to recycle and repurpose. We’re committed to extending the lifespan of our furniture through partnerships with recommissioning organisations. These partnerships allow us to refurbish and recondition furniture, giving it a second life and further reducing the need for new materials and resources.
Working together to produce less waste
We have complete control over our manufacturing processes and their environmental impact and we’re working to produce less waste. This begins with our careful selection of materials, sourcing from sustainable suppliers and FSC certified suppliers. By using materials from responsible sources, we’re able to minimise the environmental impact of our production.
Our manufacturing facility is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment that meets stringent environmental standards. Specialist software enables us to optimise production processes, ensuring that everything we make is made to measure. Our commitment to sustainability, however, extends beyond the factory floor. We’ve invested in solar panels that offset 82 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually, and the energy generated from our board waste is used onsite to heat our facility. By using low cure powders to reduce oven temperatures and gas usage, we are also doing our bit.
We’ve recently embraced Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), investing in One Click LCA to provide transparent information about the environmental impact of our products. But this is just the start. Our sustainability journey doesn’t stop, and we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint and continuing to make beautiful furniture with a clear conscience.
