Interior Design Trends
As we move into September, commercial interior design naturally begins to replace the bright hues of Summer with inviting Autumn tones. Darker shades of fabric such as burgundy and brown can be introduced to create a cosier and more welcoming environment which will encourage the user to swap the outside for in.

Gresham have a standard range of wood finishes that have been selected based on reoccurring seasonal trends. Midnight Ash is one of our darker MFC’s which can create a sophisticated yet modern look and if used correctly can tailor a space to an autumnal feel.
Having light, contrasting soft finishes such as sheer curtains or an oversized rug paired with warm lighting is a way of not letting dark woods feel overpowering. In an office environment this can be demonstrated in a breakout or lounge space.
Breakout spaces in a workplace are used in a multitude of ways but most importantly should be used to allow the employee to step back and take a mental minute. By refreshing this space seasonally, it would encourage users to not only take advantage of the space for themselves but also stimulate creativity and collaboration away from the desk area.
