MATERIALS
The four-legged framework is produced in solid Ash wood, produced in various sections that are mortised, tenoned and glued together to form a stable structure. This is finished using a durable satin lacquer with 15% sheen gloss level.
Foot rails are produced in a 25.4mm x 12.7mm (1” x ½”) flat sided oval mild steel hollow section tube finished with a durable epoxy powder coating. These are connected to the frame legs using glass-filled Polyamide (Nylon) injection moulded components and steel metric machine screws that are located into course threaded screw-in inserts, providing a strong, consistent joint.
Seat base boards are produced in 18mm Birch faced laminated plywood, whilst the upholstered option seat boards are 9mm thick. These are then covered with Combustion Modified High Resilience (CMHR) Polyester foam, compliant to ‘Crib 5’ flame retardancy requirements and offers additional comfort to the stools. The resultant assembly is then upholstered. Seating fabrics for the seat are available in a selection of patterns, colours and weaves.
For wooden seat options, the seat boards are produced in solid Ash wood and finished to match the frames. These boards are connected to the frames using metric steel machine screws that locate into alloy screw-in inserts, pre-fitted to the seat boards.
