The Oastler Building project was won through the North Eastern Universities Purchasing Consortium Framework. The brief was to develop, finalise and project manage the specification of a range of furniture suitable for use by teaching staff and students at the University of Huddersfield. Key considerations included quality, longevity and value for money.
Gresham worked with AHR Architects and the client to specify a range of high quality, stylish and appropriate furniture for each area within the new Oastler Building on the University of Huddersfield’s Queensgate Campus. The project included being involved in consultation sessions with key stakeholders to showcase and evaluate product samples as well as hosting a demonstration for the University’s IT technicians as part of the development of a functional desking solution that housed integral monitor screens.
Alongside the specification, production and installation of Gresham’s main range furniture, the Oastler Building project invited the opportunity for the Gresham Bespoke team to design and manufacture a variety of custom-made fixed seating structures, reception counters and a solid oak mock court room complete with judges and witness boxes.
From the client:
“Gresham worked closely with the University to design, develop and install high quality bespoke furniture for our exciting new Oastler building. Throughout the process the attention to detail and commitment to the sometimes difficult construction project has resulted in the delivery of a high end product throughout, highlighted by the impressive oak work to our showcase law court.”
