GRESHAM CO-HOSTS ROUNDTABLE ON BIOPHILIC DESIGN
Last week Gresham teamed up with Mix Interiors to host a roundtable on the benefits of biophilic design in the workplace.
Held at Dukes92 in Manchester, the event attracted a stellar line up of the region’s top designers from Jasper Sanders to Kay Bridge and Simon Millington. All our panellists were extremely generous with their time and provided us with a fantastic insight into the industry’s latest buzz word. But is biophilic design more than a passing trend?
It certainly seems that way as the consensus of the group was that biophilic design isn’t new at all, it’s simply a new term for an aspect of design that is well practiced and should be present in all workplaces. It’s about looking at basic human needs and designing spaces that promote happiness and wellbeing through access to daylight, fresh air and having a connection to others as well as the natural environment.
